Galesburg Great Balloon Race is a FREE, family-friendly hot air balloon event held the last full weekend of July each year since 2000. We welcome pilots and crews from across the region to fill the skies with colorful balloons and unforgettable moments for the whole community. Every year features a special shape balloon, plus evening glow activities that bring the field to life after sunset. Thanks to the generous support of local sponsors, admission stays free for everyone-so families, friends, and visitors can come together to enjoy an exciting summer tradition in Galesburg.
